breeders in the north west

Any one know of any?, also i've seen a couple of places on the net, not sure if im allowed to name them on here but not sure if the are ok some are cheaper than others, they advertise on reptile keeper classifieds

Just be careful where you buy from. Always check-out very carefully anyone claiming to be a tortoise breeder. Appearances can be deceptive - especially on the internet where an apparently legitimate-looking site can hide a dirty secret. There's more than one dealer out there pretending to be Mr Joe Bloggs who happens to be reluctantly departing with his pair of tortoises (In truth such dealers are flogging hundreds of imported tortoises this way.
Contact the Tortoise trust http://www.tortoisetrust.org/
They will be able to put you in touch with a legitimate breeder who can sell you healthy hatchlings

I knew TT was going to start a Breeders list but just checked and it's not up and running yet, am I looking in the wrong place??

I don't know if they breed, but the Vivarium in Berkeley, CA is the best reptile shop in the Bay Area.

As well as the TT, Tortoise Friends have a list of good breeders.

I think there are a few legal problems with the TT list Arnie, I gather Andy is worried that any dealers 'slip thro the net'
