Hello
I have been looking to get a book on Leopard tortoises but there doesn't seem to be many on them specifically.
Can anyone recommend one worth buying?
Thanks,
Cerys

I've not got a book to recommend, as such, however, here is a link to The Tortoise Trust's care sheet on the species:
http://www.tortoiset.../cpardalis.html
and the pdf printable version:
http://www.tortoiset...ads/Leopard.pdf
Andy Highfield from the Tortoise Trust has also written a book which includes the care of Leopard tortoises.
"Keeping a Pet Tortoise" by A.C Highfield, Nadine Highfield and Philip de Ste. Croix (15 Mar 2009). It's pretty basic though.... more a book for beginners.
I can't personally recommend anything else I'm afraid, because all the books I have are on the care of Hermanns tortoises.
I have found a book on Amazon, however, know nothing of the author, so I've no idea how good it is.
"Sulcata and Leopard Tortoises" (Complete Herp Care Series) by E.J. Pirog (24 Nov 2008). The reviews on it look O.K, but without reading it myself, I can't say how correct the information is.
Sue may know a little more about this particular author......

I've just messaged a keeper I know who keeps Leopards. I'll let you know if I have any joy with her. ;)

She said that the book is worth a read, but your best bet is keeping up to date with the latest research.... That way the information you have is current. So many books can quickly become out of date when new information is gained, as can be seen by this post concerning this particular book:
http://www.tortoiset...ise book#p36835
If you have a good idea of new findings you can then make your own informed decisions based on your own knowledge too.
The Tortoise Trust Website is a good place to start for up to date information.
They also have their own forum http://www.tortoiset...rg/phpbb3_live/ where you can get advice from other experienced keepers.

Misty Corton wrote a good one, it was available on Amazon, might be worth a look.
