I successfuly breed leopard tortoises, but am not doing too good with Hermann's.

My female laid three eggs this summer (her first eggs). I placed these in my incubator and two hatched, however, 1 died the following day. The third egg never hatched, so I opened it after two months to find a fully developed tortoise inside, but unfortunately it had died and was starting to go mouldy inside the egg. Thankfully, the third tortoise is thriving.

I had the temps at 30-31 degrees and tried to keep the humidity at 50%, as this works really well with my leopards.

The eggs were placed on vermiculite.

What did I do worng?

Thank you

Hi mate sorry to hear that happened to your baby tortoises. I keep my incubator set at 31c and 70% humidity and I put mine on vermiculite too. I'm
not sure if it will make any difference but maybe try putting the humidity up a bit. Hope this helps.
