Hi there

Quick question - until what age do young Hermann toroises live a secretive life in nature? For example hiding from predators and hiding from too much sun, just venturing out to feed and live under shade /bushes.

Thank you

Hi Sabina,

Sue will know a bit more with watching tortoises in the wild, but i would say samll tortoises would hide for quite a few years as they grow so much slower in the wild than captive torts, but all tortoises will hideaway from the sun throught the day at any age when the sun is hot midday most venture out early morning and late afternoon to feed. :)
