Hello

Who is the owner of this outdoor enclosure set-up? Pictures attached.

I think it looks great and I would like to get in touch with the carer to get information how he/she made it, where the shed and cage frame where sourced, how the cat flap was done etc...

When my two babies will be 5 years old they will need a house upgrade.

Thank you

Sabina

I love Ben's enclosure, it's one of the best I've seen.  :)

Yes it is nice isn't it, I wish I had the space to do that, Ben's done a splendid job there.

Hi Sabina

The greenhouse was made by swallow gb Ltd and I fitted the cat flap myself like you would in a door. Here’s a link to the website: http://www.swallowgbltd.co.uk

Thanks very much for sharing Ben. That's great.

I have some questions, i am curious and your enclosure is very inspiring :-)

Greenhouse:

  • What is the base under your greenhouse? I can see there are bricks around the greenhouse and also I can see there is soil on the ground inside the greenhouse, but on what does the greenhouse sits?
  • What is the part of the greenhouse that has no glass and look like a shed? Is it where your tortoises sleep at night?
  • Did you add any insulation and / or heating in the shed part?

Cage:

  • What are the dimensions of your cage (length, width, height)?
  • Is it a heavy duty fruit net that you put on the cage?
  • How do you enter inside the cage if you need to?
  • Where did you get cage frame from? I found similar steel ones but they are 2m+ high.

Thanks again

Sabina

I had a concrete base put down for it to go on. Then a pond liner and the soil on top of that. The shed was used in the spring and autumn on cold nights. It was insulated and heated with tube heaters on a thermostat to keep
It over 10 degrees. Didn’t bother in the summer though. The cage measured about 3 metres long by 2 metres wide and one end of the netting was only secured by removable cake ties so I could get in and out. It was a heavy duty fruit cage bought online from Harrod Horticultural and from memory they let your order custom lengths. Hope this helps x
