breeding of hermans

Hi,i was wondering if someone with experiance of breeding hermans can give me some info on when how and what to do to go about this.At the moment i have a three year old female and was wondering about what age male to get and anything i need to do enviroment wise to ensure breeding,looking after the eggs and any young.

Hi Copper

Little too young at the moment im afraid. they wont be ready til at least 10yrs old if that and even if they do start a little before then its not really fair on the tort. if you get a male you want to have at least a 1:3 male to female ratio. Lots of time to prepare :)

hi jade,thanks for the info,i thik over the next few years i'm going to gather myself a 'herd' of torts so that when they are of age,the male(s) will have plenty of choice.copper;-)
