I've noticed today that my 7month old tort has got diarreah. He seems fine in himself and is eating, sleeping and is active as normal, but I'm a bit concerned about this. He eats salads, cucumber and weeds including dandilions.

I would appreciate any advice and some reassurance that I dont need to worry!

Hi Beth, your tortoise probably has diarreah because he has too much water in his food. Cucumber should only be fed very very occationally as a way to hydrate your tortoise, for example on really hot days. What kind of salad are you feeding? Try to increase the amount of weeds in the torts diet...There are loads about at the mo, especially bittercress, plantains, sow thistle etc and keep feeding the dandilions :-) If your finding it hard to find enough weeds you can feed torts florette crispy salad bag.

Hi Jo,

THANKYOU! That has made me feel tons better.

I will increase the weeds and cut out the cucumber!

Thankyou again!

Beth :-)
