hi i am new to this site

i tokk my 5 yr old tortoise to the vets last wednesday as he had gone of his food and was making chocking noises only when he opened his mouth. he had no bubbles present or any other symptom of RNS the vet set of some lab tests and they have come bk normal.

we have been injectiing him with antibiotics every third day and bathing him in a electrolite solution thing, he is more active and has the moody on cos we have been injecting him. he is eating his food but still making these noises all though they seem to sound more like a wet fart noise now(sorry bout that). i cant speak to the vet herself until toommorow morning but i am really worried.

has anyone ever experianced this before or got any ideas what it could be?

he is kept in a large tort table with uv lights and basking lights. his substrate is hemcore and has a balanced diet of weeds, butter squash and water cress. i just dont know what is wrong with him, or if i am doing any thing wrong please help if u can!

I'm not able to give any advice, but hopefully this will bring your posting to the top of the page. Where do you live? Someone may know of a good tortoise vet near you.

When our tortoise refused to eat we took him to a vet who kept him for a week and did all kinds of tests but could not find any reason why he was not eating. then we consulted a homeopath and he gave us some remedy cost 5 and 36 hours later the tortoise started eating and hasn't looked back. I think you should stick with the vet but maybe keep an open mind on alternative treatment as well. Hope to hear he is much better soon Good Luck
