Hi Caroline,

Re the TLady site for seeds - did you go to this url
http://www.tlady.cla...t/herbiseed.htm
The TLady seeds are sold by Herbiseed, and all you have to do is ring them and your seeds will arrive with lots of instructions by return of post.

Nina, I emailed someone called Sarah from the Shelled Warriors site, I didn't realise you could ring for them, I don't have Paypal so didn't go with tlady.

Hi caroline,

when i ordered from herbiseed i phoned them and they were really helpfull. My husband still cant believe i spent that much money on "weed seeds" but hes not into tortoises.

I have got three books on wild plants but still have trouble identifying them so feel safer growing them, at least i know they are the right ones to feed.

I have also spent a fortune at the garden centre on plants but at least most of them are perenials, i have also bought a mini greenhouse so am growing lots of plants from seeds and next year i will be more organised and can start growing plants earlier. I feel the problems i have had this year is not being prepared as didnt know i was getting a tortoise and also didnt know what they ate.

I would have been totaly lost without this site. All the expense and hard work is well worth it as i am determined to give my tortoise a happy and healthy life which is something he didnt have before i got him.

nicky:-)

Nicky that sounds great. I'm like you were, quite unprepared and wasn't really given strict advice, it was too wishy washy for me to understand the importance of things, ESPECIALLY their diet. I was so upset last night that I hadn't given them what they need, but today I went hunting again and found another type of plantain, came home, got the pic up on the Tlady site and it was the correct one.

Obviously I wash them thoroughly but I plan to phone the herbiseed people and put my order in. I can't wait to do the right thing by my wee ones, they mean so much to me.

I'll be much more prepared too for the next few months. Phew!

Hi Caroline,

I just posted a message on another thread, recommending the TLady site to you, but I see you've already been there and are using it - so that's great. Seeds from Sarah on Shelled Warriors will be fine. And welcome to the wonderful world of weed hunters!

Haha NIna, I was out yesterday in the rain with my hood up and halfway up a hill checking the weeds, people must have been wondering what I was doing :-)
