Why do you need to put a new tort in quaratine for 6 months.

Hi Georgia,

The new tortoise might be carrying a disease of some sort that he could pass to your other tortoise. As some diseases take a really long time to show themselves, the quarantine time will give you a chance to see if the new tortoise develops symptoms of a disease.

There could be many things to look out for, most visable ones being runny nose, poorly eyes, lack of appitite, lack of movement etc... All of these things could indicate an illness :)
