Hi everyone,

I haven't seen my female tortiose produce any urates in the past 2 weeks, I've been bathing her every 2-3 days, and leave her in for 20-30 minutes.

The tortoise is 13cm, eating well and everything seems normal.

Any ideas? Is this normal or should I worry since this may lead to stones?

Thank you.

I think the urates (white stuff) is excess calcium the body is getting rid of. The tort wont always go for a wee int he bath and if she does and it doesnt have urates in there I dont think its a problem. She may go for a wee some time after the bath when ur not looking and of course it soaks up so quickly that you wont see. Just make sure your feeding normal supplements (nutrabol and cuttlefish) and I'm sure she'll be fine. :D
