Worried About Weight Pre-Hibernation

Please help..... Our Hermanns is 2 years old & although hibernated succesfully last year we are concerned about weight for this year. The length being 7.3cm & weight 70g.Please advise us Thanks.

He/she comes out at 0.17 working it out the other JR way (weight divide length divide length divide length). My female is at 0.16 which is at the low end of the scale bordering on underweight for hibernation but because she is healthy I am still hibernating her but only for the min 8 wks. 0.17 is light but these guides are just that...guides. If you feel that your tort is healthy and you feel confident then maybe you could do just a short hibernation. BUT only do it if you are happy and confident. DON'T do it cos you feel you 'ought' to cos its the right thing to do.

Thanks for your reply. All healthy & looking well so will probably opt for an 8 week hibernation period. At final stages of wind down though still emptying gut. Thanks.
