[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-11-07 AT 08:22 PM (GMT)]MY TWO HERMAN TORTS HAVE GONE INTO THE BOX IN THEIR RUN AND ALTHOUGH I AM PUTTING FOOD DOWN AND PUTTING THE LIGHT ON THEY ARE NOT COMING OUT. SHOULD I JUST STOP USING THE LAMP AND STOP FEEDING AND ASSUME THEY ARE OCAY. I WAS NOT PLANNING TO HIBERNATE BUT THEY SEEM TO WANT TO SLEEP. ANY HELP WITH THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS. SHELLY

Hi shelly

it is important to still use the light as the torts still need to empty their stomaches. weigh them on the jacksons and then if they are ok dont offer aymore food. you want to wind them down reducing heat and light over a period of 3-4 weeks and bathing about 3 times a week in warm water. then when they get to the end of the wind down gradually move them to a cooler place until eventually they can go wherever you choose to hibernate them :D

Hi shelley,
I am glad that Jade has come in with her good advice:-) I hope now your mind will be at rest and you can enjoy the rest of the winter:( without worrying too much.

Love maz:*
