Hi everyone

Ive got two 4 year old hermans, at the moment they are kept in a large sandpit which ive converted ino an indoor tortoise table, usually they pretty much ignore each other but during this past week they have been taking it in turns chasing each other around the sandpit and then getting on top of each other making loud squeaking noises, is this normal? it is quite amusing to watch, do you think they are both males trying to mate or is it a dominance thing?

lol!!!!! sorry! Yeah thats the sound they make when they are (ahem) making lurvvvvvve! Regardless of whether its successful or not! It could be a 'dominance' thing as at 4 thay are still a bit young to be actually mating.

Have you got any photo's of them? If so we might be able to tell if they are male or female.... you need good shots of their tails from underneath.

;-)
