pancakes

Hi all i was giving my pancakes a spray down with warm water and notice there were a lot more movement in the group,so i was wondering does down poor tricker mateing in the pancakes.you see i know it does with other tortoise any one.hope you like the pics jeff

Great pics again, i think jersey zoo use the artifcial rain fall trick to stimulate there animals into breeding(mating)

reason i asked is because the pancakes are very shy tortoise spending much of there time hiding in there den if you like,and when i spray them it was like having diffrent tortoise so fake rain it is then.thanks Darren take care jeff

Hi Jeff
Your set-up looks great and so do the pancakes. Never tried that with the pancakes I have now or ones I had before. Mine are always active though, so not sure if it would change their behavior any. That and my male isn't quite old enough yet, but the female is, so maybe later on this year I'll try it.

Hi Jeff
I think it would work especially if you timed your fake rain with a weather front coming through. The change in pressure along with your rain should really get them going.
