Galapagos tortoises

Here are the galapagos tortoises at work they were captive bred in germany and are possibly the oly true galapagos torts in the uk, they are 5yrs old hope you like

awww darren , cant wait to see em, my kids eyes will probably pop out though, only used to small torts lol.

Yeah there on show now beeen so for a few days , they are in that enclosure seperated from the radiateds of course, the yellowfoots were mine i have them back now they were on breeding loan to the zoo from me

Oh right yellow foots are one of my favourites. I can't wait to see the galapagos tortoises I've never seen one before.

there about twice the size of "ochra" my male redfoot.

They look so relaxed, i`ll have to pop up to this zoo when the weather warms up a bit and have a look. Its a lovely zoo and when i go i usually spend all day there. Your lucky to have such a rewarding job.

Hi Darren well im amazed at the size only 5 yrs, well they have a lot more growing to do. im shocked at the size,very well grown on nice.how many radiated tortoise does the place have, thanks for sharing them with us.jeff

Look forward to it, i was going to apply for a job there recently. Every year when i see them advertised in the paper i think shall i apply then i think `no they`ll probably give me a job cleaning the ladies loos, lol`. :+

Nice pics, I love going to the Zoo, reptile house is my favorite part. I am going to be a small monkey keeper for the day in July, I can't wait,was my 30th birthday present from my family

Wow Darren they are fantastic, are they permanently at the Zoo now? What food do they eat? Think it would be a job and half collecting weeds for them!!
I'm going to Australia next month, hope to get a photo of the oldest Galapagos in Steve Irwin's zoo!

yes permanent residents now they are fed on soft chopped hay and mixed greens later in the year it will change to grass and weeds, have a great trip vee
