Hi Kelly,
Your tortoise needs a hot end of around 30c and a cool end of around 20c so it can control its body temperature.
Theres a great post titled 'converting vivarium' in the hermann tortoise section (just checked its on the 3rd page now).
Also this site will give you lots of ideas im sure, theres a special section for housing... http://forums.shelle...407dabb08884e69

Have a read of this if you havn't already... gives great info on diet etc (im presuming the pet shop that sold u the viv also told u to feed tomatoes/cucumber etc?!?)

If you need any more help let us know :-) :-)

Hi Jo

Thanks very much for the links, you are right about what the pet shop told me to feed them on! i have downloaded the list of edible weeds from your link, much appreciated!!
Wish i would have done more research b 4 buying the tortoise but hopefully i am getting it right now, i have converted his vivarium into a tortoise friendly environment, so glad i came across this website.
Thanks for all your help:)

Hi Kelly,

Oops - I just posted a long (and boring ) response in your original thread and then I saw this one. Glad you've made the changes, and I'm sure you'll see a big difference in your little tort's behaviour.
