[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-05-07 AT 03:59 PM (GMT)] Our horsfield tortoise ate a slug today and seemed to love but we were wondering if eating slugs is any good for him?

Hi, as far as I know they shouldn't be purposefully fed as they are high in protein, but obviously there will be times when your tort will find them, the ocational one will not do him/her any harm.
My baby hermann was found eating a dried worm the other day :o

Hello,

There is not an problem with them eating slugs at all. Wait to you hear the crunching sound of the snails being eaten..

It is what they do in the wild, They will eat what they come accross.
