I am off to spain in August to see my parents and my brother and his family .. i will be going to the Rojales area 20 mins south of Alicante and 15 mins in land from Torrevieja

yep a nice trip only trouble is i will be bringing back my twin daughters who would of been out there for part of their summer holidays ...

i understand Testudo hermanni hermanni and Testudo graeca graeca tortoises are native in Spain but does anyone know a good location close to my base where i could get my parents to check out prior to us visiting so we know we can gaurentee to SEE tortoises in the wild and ONLY take photos etc during our visit ??

I went to Malaga in March and although no torts around I did see copious amounts of Opuntia cactus so I reckon they must have been hiding somewhere :P

Did unfortunaley see a box turtle and a russian tortoise in the same tank in a pet shop there tho :(

Enjoy ur hols and let us know what you see :D
