My partner works for the rspca and found a tortoise which knowone has claimed , i already have a herman tortoise and i think this one is a horesfield, does anyone know if i can out them together or if they should be seperated?
Plus does anyone know if i need to get a license for the tortoise we have found?

Hi, re putting them together - I personally wouldn't. Different species carry different pathogens so to mix them could cause health problems. Your choice, but not recommended.

You won't be able to get a licence for it now as they are issued at birth. Without knowing his or her background it would be impossible to get one. You could ring DEFRA for advice - I may be wrong! Also it depends on the breed as not all breeds have to have licences. They are not proof of ownership so they are not issued willy-nilly as such.
