HI All,

I know he is very young but my 4 ear old tortoise is tryin to mate my 8 year old, they are very young and too young to breed from. I wondered if there is any chance he could be successful and if so should i seperate them as they are too young to be having babies

Hi Charlee,

I'm confused! Didn't they cover this on the tortoise course? I'd have thought that from doing that and being part of the STA you'd know the answer to this and be able to advise all of us

Personally I'd have thought that at the moment they are both a bit young still, but if you're concerned then seperate them. The female may be just reaching sexual maturity but the male is a tad bit too young, though I did read once of a pair of torts sucessfully breeding on another forum a while back!!!
