Hi everyone,
I am new to keeping tortoises and after reading some of the information on this site, it has given me some of the help that i need to keep my tortoise(Tank) fit and heathy.

What i would like to know is that Tank keeps digging in the garden, and sometime i find it hard to find him, he goes down about 3/4 inches and i have to dig him out again, why is he doing this?

He has shade in the garden so i do not see any reason why he needs to bury..Thanks

Hi Jim

This is completely natural, normal behavious for a tortoise. They need to regulate their body temperature, and digging into the soil is one method. Why not go to www.tortoisetrust.org and read the info on there, its very interesting and will help you understand your torts behaviour
Hope this helps
