just had a look at your pics dawn i see what you mean.my blob!!!dosent fill up even half of the egg.so maybe their is nothing in it aswell.i will let them run there course and hope for the best!!!!thanks

hi terry well its day 23 i can see a little vein and a small dark mass in one end of the egg.in the other egg i am sure i can c a vein in it to but not much ealse.i take it you have brought up your torts from a young age then bread them.if yes did they get fertlie eggs streight away or did you have a few duds before they started to hatch thanks for your time

from your description they sound fertile to me Bruce.my younger female was hatched by me and i had fertile eggs in her first clutch which was 3 years ago ,she normally lays 2 small clutches a year although i couldnt find her second clutch this year.good luck with yours this year and keep me posted i cant wait to see hatchlings.

i am still in the very early stages of what i am hoping to do.you have to have a few nocks on the way.its all a learning curve.it would be really nice if theese ones do hatch.we will just have to wait and see

well its day 69 no sign of life in the eggs sad.gif but as i type this she is making an other nest!!!this will be her third batch this year.all infertlie so far.hopfully this time if she lays i mite get one little baby.will let you all know if she lays

How come she is not hibernating Bruce? I would be inclined to give her a rest to be honest.

this is the tort that lost all the weight on the wind down.you advised me to over winter her.i have 7 torts in the fridge.and i am keeping three up as two are quite new to me and they havent really settled yet

she is back up to 597 she was 520 wen i took her of the wind down.she was 602 before wind down.so she has put a fair bit of weight back on but that could be eggs though.she is in with one male an a female. the male shows no intrest in any of them.her back leggs are still swimming today.dont think the soil is deep enough for her.so of to home base for some more top soil

we are on day 60 somthing.not looking good.i am a bit worried about her now she has been pacing all week end digging a little then moving on.thought she didnt have enough soil so went to home base got some more.i put it in she just keeps on digging then stops.no one is aloud in the room apart from me so she is not getting put off.is their anything ealse i should be doing?she seems to be tyring.

well she has just layed two more eggs!!!!one very small egg and one really big egg.so here we go again!!!!cant find the camara rite now but wen i calm down a bit i will have a look

I had one like that and then she dropped infertile eggs all through the summer. Apparently it can be a hormonal imbalance so it might be worth getting her checked out at a specialist vet in the spring if she is continuing along these lines. Forgive my memory but has she ever been induced?
