white poop?

err i bather zippy yesterday and he did a little white poop-type thing... quite pasty and a bit watery... sorry to be vague! is this normal? is he just passing cuttlefish??!! unsure.gif

I expect that was the white urates they pass with their wee. Quite normal. It should be slimey, not gritty

That answered my question too!
My Tortoise did a white gooey poo thing today too, and its the first time I had ever seen one, at least now i know its normal smile.gif

Yes folks it's normal and even a sign of good health. The urates are crystals of uric acid from the digestive system and its a positive sign that the tortoise system is working normally.

As Lin says, watch out for gritty or hard lump urates. This usually means the tortoise is de-hydrated and needs more drinks and / or bathing to allow it to fill up on water.

I find they often do them in the bath, when they are passing other wastes as well.
