This is probably a bit of a strange question but ive caught my 5yr old Hermanns tortoise rubbing the backside of his shell against things!. Does anyone have a clue what he is doing and why?

Hello Sarah
This is quite mormal behaviour, especially to females, I'm not saying males don't do it, but more often females. They get sexually aroused, and at 5 years, she is starting to have adult feelings, Scratch her back towards the rear and she may even give you a wiggle :-)
