Hi all biggrin.gif

I have found some 'Sweet William' on my parents allotment...and I wondered if they are okay for torts to eat?? I did have a quick look on the edible and toxic list but couldn't find it...I dont know the scientific name for it, so not sure if I missed it in one of the lists?

Hi Emily

Sweet William is high in saponins. Which apparently can cause gastrointestinal problems. It can be fed in very small amounts but not with other foods that contain saponins.

So to be honest i wouldn't feed it.

Always the way when you have easy access to a plant or weed, we find out it isn't very safe. Ha ha. But never mind.
