hi all, can i just ask why vivs are not recomended for torts :unsure:

Well there are quite a few reasons really;
Temperature gradient- Torts need to thermoregulate, to warm up and to cool down. It is almost impossible to get the correct temperature gradient in a viv.

Glass - Torts cannot understand being able to see through the glass and yet not be able to get through it to what they see beyond. This causes stressed torts that will constantly pace the sides in an attempt to get out.

Soil is supposed to be slightly moist, without proper ventilation humidity levels inside would probably be too high for torty and this could lead to respitatory problems.

Also size, you can make bigger tables than the size of the vivs you can buy. :D
