Hi All

My tortoise Bertie is currently in hibernation, but as I started earlier than I had planned he is due to come out of hibernation this coming weekend.
With the weather like it is at the moment I would like to extend his hibernation, is this possible ?
He is 3 years old and this is his first hibernation. He was checked over by the vets prior to hibernation and checked for worms and was given the all clear.
I've listed his weights prior to hibernation and during hibernation below
17/10/2010 299g WIND-DOWN STARTED
23/10/2010 291g
30/10/2010 288g HIBERNATION STARTED
05/11/2010 288g
13/11/2010 288g
19/11/2010 288g
26/11/2010 287g
04/12/2010 287g
11/12/2010 287g
18/12/2010 287g
24/12/2010 287g

Thanks for any advise and Merry Christmas
Regards
Robert

Hi All

Thanks for your replies Bruce and Sandy.
I'll try and extend his hibernation as suggested for a few more weeks.

Regards

Robert
