Hello
preparation for those winter months,i have picked loads of dandelion flower heads, washed them and now in the process of drying them out, tonight they will go in the airing cupboard, when they have completley dried out i will put them in small food bags and seal them so all my torts will have a good variety of food when its hard to get weeds.

Hey good thinking batman! :D

I think I might try that too Jayne, thanks for sharing!

I did dry out some really big sowthistles a couple of years ago but chickend out of using them as at the time people suggested that the... make up? of the leaf would change with drying. Well I suppose it would, the water has been removed and obviously then would become more concentrated so would need to be fed with care. But a sprinkle of dandy flower when weeds are short sounds like a good plan!
