IVE BEEN GIVEN A ALMOST NEW MINI FRIDGE. ITS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A FRIDGE SIZE INCUBATOR. WOULD THIS BE OK TO HIBERNATE A TORTOISE IN. I DONT WANT TO KEEP IT ALL SUMMER IF ITS NOT GOING TO BE USEFUL FOR HIBERNATION..ANY VIEWS PLEASE......TIGGY

Hi

I have read that the smaller fridges are sometimes a bit tempermental, temperature wise. Maybe if you fill it with bottles of water and monitor the temperature for a few weeks to see if you can get the temperature stabilised it would help to make up your mind.

Hi Tiggy,

Im not sure what size a fridge size incubator is.. :laugh: I agree with Gail, as long as the temperature can be stabilised and it hasn't got one of those freezer compartment thingies at the top it will be just the job!

thank you both for that,it hasnt got a freezer compartment but i will try it out for a couple of weeks first. there is no thermastat on it. it was bought as a beer cooler and only used once so i will try to see how cold it is when running....tiggy
