hi it was chester zoo theses are the only ones i could see there but still lovley ,it was a good day out worth a look if you have,nt been ,.

Bristol Zoo has some beautiful giant Aldabra torts if anyone is in the area. I had a fab day out there earlier in the year. :)

Hi Bruce,

I can't remember exactly how many aldabra there were,maybe 5/6? There was a breeding programme going on at the time. :wub: Luuurve was in the air!
They had a couple of torts on loan, it was great, they had a short talk on them from one of the keepers. They were whoppers and I wouldn't have fancied weed picking for those guys! :D
In an inside enclosure they had other species too including Egyptians. I did take photos but unfortunately lost them from my phone. :(
I hope one day I get to go back.
