Here's a few pictures of Norman, my Hermann's tortoise. I've had him 2 months now and already he's got a better life than he was used to. He was showing the first signs of pyramiding due to accelerated growth and he was dehydrated when I got him, having been in a pet shop vivarium.
He's now on the correct diet of weeds with Nutrabol and calcium powder daily. He has a 20 minute bath every morning and has a beautiful 4ft tortoise table with a spot bulb and UVB lighting. My plan is to build an outdoor enclosure for him for the spring, so watch this space.....

He's being overwintered this year as I've not had him long, and he is a little on the low side weight wise to be hibernated. He's happy, active and eating well at the moment, so I must be doing something right. :)

My new gadget arrived today to read the humidity levels in Norman's tortoise table...... It's reading 44 today. Posted Image

Looks like I was worrying over nothing. Humidity levels are looking good. ;)

Am I right in thinking that anything between 30-50 is desireable?

It's total overhaul for Norman's tortiose table today......soil change and full clean of everything in it....... it's looking good now. Norman's busy traipsing around sniffing everything!

Hmmmm...... I wonder how long it will take him to trash it again???
