Especially for Bruce...... Norman's a tricky one....
He seems to have a mixture of sub-species characteristics. A hybrid.... or a mutt?? LOL

Hi Kelly,
My Billiejo is a boettgeri and I can definitely see characteristics of this sub-species in Norman. I think it's looking more likely that he is some kind of mix. Having said that he is a beautiful tortoise and seems to have acquired the best traits of each species. Hope this helps. Take care. ;)
Kind Regards
Freddy :D

He was 2 in September. Mine's started flashing his bits too, so I could confirm he was male! ;)

Have a look at this link, Leah.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I thought I was going mad when I was seeing traights across the species!! It's nice to have it confirmed by the experts. x ;)

Looks I've got a unique one all right. I reckon the mixing is actually beneficial. He certainly seems to be a hardy little fella. Nothing spooks him or fazes him and he takes everything in his stride. I don't think I'd want him any other way.

Is Norman the tortoise version of a Labradoodle? He's a handsome chap whoever his parents were!
