Hi mildredsmam, I tried using Google images and typed in 'British weeds heart shaped leaves' There are quite a few, it is not conclusive, but could it be the Lesser Celandine? http://findmeacure.c...nculus-ficaria/

I have generally found found that if flora are edible for humans, then they are edible for torts eg: dandelion, nasturtium, plantain etc. Lesser Celandine is edible according to that link so if it is that it probably will be okay for torts. I don't know how to find out for certain, a bit more Googling might bring up a more conclusive photo match. :)

EDIT: what about this one: http://www.plantlife...red_dead-nettle red dead nettle? This one is also edible to humans. so should be tort friendly.

It is also known as garlic mustard, smell the leaves and you will see why. :-) It is an edible torty leaf but not a particular favourite of my guys... usually last on the slates but eaten when nothing esle left!

Lesser Celandine is NOT edible for torts. :) Typical!! Theres so much or it around right now!
