Right got everything set up, torts have explored and eaten.
In the enclosed/bed area ther is a heat pad. It is attached to the lid, so out of the torts way. Do I use this every night or just if it is cold in room?
How many hours should I keep heat/uv combi light on?

Hi Maria,
Heat mats are generally not recommended for torts as they can affect their temperature or thermo-self-regulation and can also cause nasty burns. Best just to use plain old topsoil as substrate. ;)
Kind Regards
Freddy :)

hanks. Mat came with enclosure, but it is attached to the lid. So torts dont actually stand on it. But as they are buried themselves under the shredded stuff, I didnt think they would need it.
Just need to get myself a timer for light and a thermometer to ensure temp is good. So out shopping tomorrow to see how else I can jaz up the box
