Hi there,

Can I just aask about your night time temperature? You suggested that the night time temp is going to fall to 10C, your tort is kept inside? Just because the outside temperature will drop to 10C it would be unlikely to drop to this within your house at this time of year?
A night time drop is definately recommended. Now you are using topsoil your tort can thermoregulate his own temperature by digging down.
Heat and UV should be on for 12-14 hours per day.
As long as torty can warm up under his lamp the next day he will be fine without heat at night. In deepest darkest winter here to keep ourselves comfortable we need additional heating, only on very rare occasions have the temps fallen low enough for me to think about adding heat at night.
