the tray im using as their bath was their home for nearly two years....

would you say they had pyramiding? as spend first year and nine months with out a UV lamp living on newspaper. (previous owner)

Hi,

I think they do look a bit lumpy, but I think you were lucky to get them before it got much worse. There's nothing you can do about it now though, but I don't think it affects them in any way.

I can't belive they were kept in that little tray for so long, poor babies!

I bet they're LOVING life now! At long last. :-)

Well done for rescuing them :-)

there is a ridge that travels length ways on the underside and dips out to either side of it. is that part of the pyramiding? x

awww,what a shame they were kept in the tray as there home with no lights,sounds like they are loving life now,you have some lovely looking pets.

I don't think that the lumping is bad for almost 2 years living like that, if they lift their underside completely off the ground when they walk i think that they're ok. By any chance do you know if they were fed on tortoise pellets?

Good thing you adopted them btw :)

their diet was mostly packets of salad from tesco and nutrobal powder.. some tortoise pellets.

Ok so the situation wasn't the worst possible, at least they were still getting some D3/calcium from the Nutrobal and pellets. Did you notice if when they walk they lift off their underside completely off the ground? If they walk correctly, the little lumping you have is just aesthetic and if stopped now will not cause them problems in the long run :)
