Dry Or Damp Vermiculite

Hi all should the vermiculite be dry or damp to out eggs on? I made mine damp is that ok? X

with my eggs I always leave the vermiculite dry. :)

I use it damp, but not so damp that it creates mould. Humidity needs to be maintained all around the egg as it would be underground. I don't damp it again once in a humid incubator though ;)
