Is there anyone in the south of England who has experience of rehabbing tortoises? I possibly need help for a lady with a new (to her) adult graeca tortoise which needs high temps and hand feeding (possibly tubing or syringing) for a couple of months due to innappetance. This is a large female tortoise which is used to being outdoors, so not happy to be inside when she wants to be hibernating. She is extremely underweight due to the neglect of previous owner and so is unsafe to hibernate. The new owner has a holiday booked in November and is inexperienced with tortoises, so a helping hand to get it feeding again over a few weeks would be brilliant, when she is happy to continue it's care.

Please only offer help if you have experience with this sort of problem, as she is a large very strong tortoise and needs experienced handling. I am on wizzasmum@aol.com if anyone can help.

This tort is now settled in it's new home. Still a long way to go, but thanks to a lovely lady, she will be fine :)
