What are the thoughts on fake animals in the enclosures ... eg, a hedgehog or lamb or fellow-tortoise type thing.  Let me see if I can find some examples on good old eBay ...

Something like this
or
(just examples, not my choice necessarily!)

Also, what about humidifiers - any good, worth it or waste of money?

Just wondered and throwing in my 'thoughts for the day' ;-)

My opinion is that this is a human concept. The tortoise will see either object as no more than a rock or lump of wood. They will do no harm, so long as none toxic. Humidifiers are not necessary and you can make an enclosure just as humid as necessary, by watering the enclosure and letting the top dry out, keeping the bottom damp. Overnight humidity will naturally be higher if the base of the enclosure is damp.

Hi welcome to the forum. :)

I think farm animals or tortoise ornaments are just personal choice really, you see a few enclosures with them in, me personally I like to keep the enclosures as natural as possible I do have a few tortoise ornaments that people have bought me over the years but there just in my garden and not the enclosure its self. :)
