My Dad is going to build me an indoor enclosure for Bertie, we were wondering what wood is safe to use?

Most woods are safe - Cyprus is not. Whatever you use, it needs to be lined against damp and sealed with an animal safe stain or paint.

Just been thinking, what liner would be good and how would you fix it?

I use pond liner - staple it to the sides and then overlap the stapled edge with a wooden baton to prevent them pulling the liner down and allowing soil to get behind it. You will need to water it so it needs to be water tight.
