Ok this is going to be a strange one...

I was giving Sheldon a bath today, and came back and found she had done her usual bowel movement in the water. Upon closer inspection, I found a 5p coin.

Now, this seems something extremely large for her to have eaten, and also Im a little worried about:

a) How long ago she ate this
b) If that has caused any internal damage

Has anyone's tortoises ever eaten something like this?

She is 141g 9cm SCL and around 3 years old.

Im rather concerned, as Im fairly certain I wouldnt be able to pass something proportionally that large. I can only assume that it's something she found while stretching her legs and decided to eat.

Are you absolutely sure she ate it and if so, how did it get into her enclosure. Do you have children who could have dropped it there. Hopefully she doesn't stretch her legs out of her enclosure as this is not a good idea for many reasons. I think you have a very lucky tortoise there as it would be a large item for an even bigger tortoise.

This was my first thought, that maybe a niece or nephew may have fed it to her.

How short are their digestive tracts?

Pretty long and food can take up to a month to come through depending on basking temps.
