Hi Becca,

Derek's lovely, it sounds like every thing has gone great with his hibernation, it's good to see him eating, we just need some nice weather now, we had snow again yesterday so it can only get better. :)

He was in hibernation for 8weeks Vikki, as he had only just gone 2years old in September.

Yes, it certainly must be confusing for the poor little things when they come out of hibernation, have a few days sun and then changes to snow again. I remember the exact same happened last year as well. Derek was just settling in at the beginning of march, we had a couple of weeks of nice weather and then the temps dropped. At first we didn't know what was making him less active as we were just getting to know him but its amazing how even if you maintain temps in the table, they seem to know what's going on outside still.
