I currently have some Hermanns Eggs at Day 54 incubated at 32.5 degrees and 70-80% humidity. They roughly look like this photo I found on the web except the air sack are smaller in some of the eggs. Is this a good sign? and does the egg have to be completely dark before hatching. Please help from a very anxious 1st time incubating owner. 🐢😱

At those temps, I would say they are ready to hatch any day. I cant see the pic, but they do vary with each egg. The air sac, often disappears as the baby fills the egg. Usually they look darker on candling because the egg is full, but I have had eggs that look empty that have hatched too, sometimes a bit later than usual. I don't candle eggs any more as there is always a risk of damage and if they are going to hatch they will and if not they won't, simple as that. I bet you will posting baby pics very soon. Good luck :)

Brilliant :) Remember to keep them well hydrated as artificial incubation can sometimes leave them very thirsty ;)
