My tortoise appears to have what I can only describe as a graze like wound to the right hand side of his neck which is only visible when he extends his neck out.
He is closely watched and I am at a loss as to what the possible cause of the injury is and I am also at a loss to know what to do to help heal the wound. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Aud,

Is he in with other torts at all, he could have just caught it on the enclosure or some thing in there, just keep it clean, you could use a bit of iodine for this. :)

Thank you both very much for your advice.
My tortoise is not in with any other tortoises.
The wound always looks worse, after he has had a bath and it weeps slightly. However I will go to a chemist and buy some iodine so hopefully this will help. Thought there would maybe have been something I could put on it to soothe it but hopefully the iodine won't nip too much.
