This photos from a while ago but too good not to post :D this is how she decides to sleep on occasion if not buried down. The balancing skills are pretty formidable haha. Just had to share really

Are you sure she's female, that looks like male dominance position tbh? Dare I ask why she appears to have no substrate?

Definitely female after laying eggs :D that's her old setup which had a tile area and the rest coir. There was a little step between the areas to keep the tile side clean. I've just found her sleeping diagonally up a plant pot so she does have her moments lol

That's a good reason, she's distraught without it :)

Maybe that's a human take on things. Personally I'm not in favour of giving balls to tortoises, they cope better with a larger habitat and more natural interests to be honest, rather than having to distract their frustrations with toys etc ;)

I agree with Sue, I could never quite understand why people give tortoises balls. :)

Hiya, I agree that giving balls etc to a tortoise is weird but I just couldn't help myself when I saw it lol. She's living outside now with plenty of climbing aids and other fun things to do but she still occasionally has a push and climb over the ball :) . It's also king of helpful as it lets me know when she's on the move or waking up as the bell inside rings. Thanks for all the helpful comments sue / Karen , much appreciated ;)
