Hi all 😊, Vera's currently in her second week of wind down/first ever hibernation. I know how much weight there allowed to lose during hibernation but what about wind down. Does it matter how much she loses due to emptying her gut etc. She's currently 1249g but was 1260g last week. Just wanna make sure I'm doing everything right 😛 Thanks

Keep hydration up and gradually reduce temps. Too much heat will result in too much weight loss. Have you followed a regime?

Thanks for the reply sue
I followed the instructions on the hibernation link on the forum.
First week I just cut off food and kept lighting the same
Second week reduced the time that the heat lamp is on and heat intensity
Third week reduce the heat output of the light
Fourth week turn off heat lamp... The whole time having baths every 1/2 days

I have to wake her myself or she just sleeps deep in the substrate

Bit off topic here but how long should I aim to hibernate her? First time but she's fully grown?
