Hi , I am a new Hermann owner and would love some advice please on food , I know they like wild plants but I am no gardener so would like some pics please for identification  of what I can give them to eat , I just want to make sure I don't give them anything that doesn't agree with them and any other advice would also be most welcome ,

Hi John, Julie welcome to the forum. :)

Try and stick to a natural diet when you can, don't feed any fruit or veg and no dried food from pet shops and you wont go too wrong, you might find these helpful regarding diet  http://www.tortsmad.com/diet.htm    http://www.thetortoi...e/plants_19.asp. :)

We look forward to seeing pictures of your new additions, and if you have any questions just ask there's always someone around happy to help. :)

To add to what Karen said, this is a brilliant little book for beginners, with clear illustrations of weeds to be found around gardens and hedgerows http://www.tlady.clara.net/id16.htmit's not expensive either. The author has kept and bred tortoises for many years and formulated the famous herbiseed diet for tortoises ;)
