Hiya folks, so Terrence and Wimble have been apart for a while, so in the meantime I used my veterinary contact and conducted an Electron Microscope for cryptosporidium plus a reptile cryptosporidium isolate test.. I have no idea how these things work but I trust my vet friends. They are both clear.

Hi, im not to sure how it works either, Sue might know, it's good they came back clear, I would still keep them quarantined for the time been as it's the Herpes virus that's the worse one, this kills tortoises and can lay dormant in them until they become stressed showing no signs before hand, some say 6 months quarantine the tortoise trust say more 12/18 months. :)

Agree with Karen. Cryptosporidium is spread by the shedding of oocysts, which happens when the animal is stressed. There can be several false negatives before a positive result, which is why quarantine needs to be so long if that makes sense.
