Soft urates ( the white stuff) is normal, but gritty or guard urates are a sign of dehydration. He needs regular warm baths and the substrate probably needs watering. In the wild tortoises will go under bushes overnight where it's really damp, or they will dig into deep soil to stop moisture being lost from the shell. Hope this helps.

You need to water his substrate as spraying only wets the top and then this evaporates, leaving dry soil underneath. It needs to be damp on the base. If he's basking a lot and not drinking too much, you need to bathe him every couple of days for 15 mins or so. Hope this helps. How long gave you had him? Could be that the bladder stones started to form before you had him.

Best to just leave it. I rarely turn mine, they will dig to the bottom where it is damper. You need it dry on top. You are mimicking the outdoors where it's naturally dry on top for basking and damp below ground. This is how they maintain correct hydration ;)
